Part A syllabus
1. Visualisation and spatial reasoning
Turning 2D shapes and 3D objects around in your head. Expect cube counting, paper folding, mirror images, top, front and side views, and hidden figures.
2. Practical and scientific knowledge
Everyday science and how things work: levers, gears, pulleys, light, sound and the simple mechanisms inside common objects.
3. Observation and design sensitivity
Noticing details that others miss. Odd one out, spotting differences, classifying images and predicting what comes next.
4. Environment and society
General awareness of how design connects with the environment, society and culture: art, crafts, architecture, products and current events.
5. Analytical and logical reasoning
Working with information, both words and numbers: series, direction sense, Venn diagrams, data interpretation and the basic maths behind NAT questions.
6. Language
Reading and understanding standard English: comprehension passages, grammar and vocabulary.
7. Creativity
Verbal and visual analogies, metaphors, signs and symbols. Questions about what an image or symbol means and how ideas connect.
Part B syllabus
Drawing
Draw products, people or scenes with good proportion, perspective, line quality, composition and shading. Usually a scene or an object from a given point of view.
Design aptitude
Respond to a problem or situation with a practical, thoughtful idea. Think about the user, sketch your options and explain your idea with short notes.

FAQs
Where can I read the official UCEED syllabus?

Some. Analytical and logical reasoning includes numerical questions, mostly school level maths like percentages, ratios, geometry and data interpretation.
Will every topic come in the exam?
Not always. IIT Bombay says the topics show the nature of the questions, but not every topic appears every year.
